The Benefit Golf Tournament Monday the 27th, has been rescheduled for July 2, 8:30 AM at Loch Lloyd. I will try to contact everyone by phone if I have the numbers. Thanks for your support and patience with the weather.

Third Quarter conference is May 1-2 in St. Joseph, try to attend.

This section of my web site is going to serve as a communication device for the office of Secretary/Treasurer during the 2008 -2009 Optimist year. I have not yet decided just how it will be set up but I also need to consult with the Governor-elect Elsie Desmond.

Well, everything went well this weekend at Branson; the budget for 2008-9 was approved and we had a golf 'membership training' tournament which was fun (especially if you won). We had Michael Angelo Caruso who gave a very informative and exiting workshop. (I have always been a little shy around people with three names but this turned out good).  Kelly Jeffries bet me in golf so it really was a great weekend; she bet me dinner so I will collect 2nd Qtr.

I paid all the bills presented to me this weekend - we have money only because Jr Golf ran a fund raising tournament and we are using those funds to pay bills until we get our funds in. I am waiting for the invoices for district dues from Optimist International. When I get those invoices I will be billing the individual clubs for the first dues installment of $5 per member.

The budget for 2008-09 has been prepared and will be ready for approval at the first conference Oct. 24-25. Our new bank account at Mazuma Credit Union has  been opened and we have paid the bill for the district pins and partially paid for the 1st Qtr. speaker.

FYI - no money will be disbursed without a "District Expense Voucher" being completed and signed. I will put one in this space so that you may download one for use when you need it. (This may take a few days, right now I am busy)

I am an Optimist. I believe in the Optimist way of living, because it wears well with my general disposition.

I like what Optimist do and I like how what they do influences my personal life style.

What does it matter if we have experience, knowledge, and talent if we don't give it away? What is the point of acquiring wealth if we don't share it? And what good is it if we have a story and don't tell it?

I believe that the measure of success is not in how much we have, but in how much we become.

And, We only have what we give. So it is by spending of oneself that we become rich.
