Note: Juniors may enter any of the qualifying tournaments, regardless of residence. All tournaments are qualifying tournaments for international competition. Qualifying criteria will be applied to all tournaments to determine advancement to international competition. The district playoff tournament is held to determine the winners of each age division and to determine which young golfers may get their expenses paid to the International Tournament. 

International Qualifying Criteria –  In order to qualify for the International Championships, all golfers must shoot at or below an established target score in the District Qualifier. Those scores are listed below:

        Boys 10 - 11, 96, Boys 12 - 13, 90, Boys 14 - 15, 83, Boys 16 - 18. 78

        Girls 10 - 12, 96, Girls 13 - 14, 92  Girls 15 - 18, 85

District Qualifying Spots for international Competition - Each district is granted a set number of qualifying spots for each age division. The number of qualifying spots granted are based on the number of participants in last year's qualifier. In general it will be from one to two spots per age division. Check with the district Junior Golf District Chair for details.

Members of the  Southside Club assist with these tournaments. The club is responsible for the two tournaments held at Country Creek and for coordinating all tournament play for western Missouri. Clubs in the other areas assist with their local tournaments.

Qualifying tournaments in the West Mo District are held for boys and girls ages 12-13,14-15 and 16-18. Younger golfers may compete in regional tournament with permission of the tournament director. Eighteen year old golfers must be currently in high school or a May graduate. (OIJGC offers competition for ages 10 through 18 years; see “at large” below.)

Juniors may play in any of the qualifying tournaments, regardless of residence, in an attempt to meet eligibility criteria for district and/or international competition. Qualifying criteria are set at 8% of the field in each age division. A district play-off tournament is held to determine the winner, with expenses paid, of each age divisions of the entire field. (Only MO residents are eligible for expense-paid trips.) All are welcome to compete to qualify.
